Game Review:

My Sims is a construction game (think virtual Lego’s), in which the Player must build houses, furniture, appliances and other items to help a small town get back on its feet. The game-play mainly revolves around talking to inhabitants in order to receive a new task. Each task comes with a blueprint of the desired item and a list of Essence required to customize the product. Essence must be found, harvested or even fished for. This ads some change from the otherwise construction heavy game-play. Social interaction is limited and the players Sim avatar is virtually “maintenance free” (no need to sleep, eat, shower etc). Players familiar with the Sims franchise will therefore find My Sims to be a much different experience compared to the much more social and difficult PC and console versions.

My Sims features adorable graphics. Unfortunately the game is plagued by very frequent loading interruptions, which ultimately takes away from the joy of the game. The low difficulty will appeal to the casual adult gamer, just as much as it does to kids. We recommend My Sims for player’s ages 7 years and up. Due to the large amount of reading, younger players may need adult help.

Sims veteran or newbie – either way, you should give this game a try.

Fun and Cute, 2008-12-04
Reviewer:        William Hoffknecht
So this game was not what I was expecting when I bought it. I was thinking it was more like a Sims game but with your Mii's. Not so.

Do not get me wrong though, the game is fun, cute, and some silly things about it. It took me a few to get use to the controls, but I am sure that kids would pick it up like nothing.

Not the most challenging thing around at all, but still entertaining.

The most annoying thing about it is searching to find all of the colors or fruits or whatever you need to complete whatever project you are working on. Sometimes you have to dig and dig, or wait and wait for more fruit to grow. It can get a little tedious, but trust me, not as tedious as leveling up materia on crappy Final Fantasy 7.

Overall, cute game, kids will like it, safe and fun.

Definite buy for those who want a change of pace from the original Sim games, 2008-12-02

MySims is created by EA Games, the same creator as The Sims. I love The Sims games but tire of repeating the same thing over and over again just to look after the Sim's interests. In my opinion this is a great game if you want a change of pace from the original Sims games. You get to build houses and furniture and so on in this game. The only downfall is you have to keep collecting and looking for essences. But I guess that is part of the game. The best part about it is that unlike the other Sims games, you don't have to look after it's bladder, strength and so on. You can keep on going. That is great because I don't like to wait so long for the Sim to sleep and repeating the process everytime.

Be creative! You never really get the full gratification of making something if you only build inside the blueprint. Think outside of the box, and create something new. You could make an industrial house, or a spooky house. It’s all in the imagination!

My Sims is stuck on the loading screen and I am afraid to turn it off because I don’t want to lose the game I am currently playing. If I turn it off will it save my game?
Thanks
