Nintendo pioneered hand-held entertainment in the ’80s and made it fully mobile with the Game Boyvideo game system.

Now, Nintendo is transforming the way people access, experience, create and share content with the new Nintendo DSi system, the third iteration of the world’s best-selling portable video game system. Nintendo DSi launches in the United States on April 5, 2009, at an MSRP of $169.99. The colors available at launch will be Blue and Black.

Here is what Nintendo has planned for us in 2009.

Rumors are that some of the Wii Games will sell for $30 - which is probably closer to what they are worth anyway.  No offense Nintendo Fan-Boys and Girls. The long-awaited “new” Nintendo DS, which will be called Nintendo DSI will arrive in late spring. During the nebulous Spring-Summer time period to be exact.

Trauma Center: New Blood is a Nintendo Wii exclusive surgery and trauma center simulation video game. The series moved from the DS to the Wii and was a Wii launch title in North America and Japan. Trauma Center: Second Opinion successfully introduced players to the endless possibilities of motion sensitive and motion-controlled gameplay.

Trauma Center: New Blood is a sequel to Trauma Center: Second Opinion. The anime style presentation and gameplay received upgrades but the core gameplay remains essentially unchanged. Families new to the series can pick up “New Blood” and start playing without ever having played or even seen the original.

The gameplay requires the player to operate on a (virtual) patient. The Nunchuck is used to select from a number of instruments and surgical tools, while the Wii –Remote is used to manipulate and operate. The game is presented in form of a continuous story, divided in several chapters, each with new and unique operations and tutorials. Procedures must be memorized and errors must be kept to a minimum.
