EA confirms Sims3 for 2009.

The Sims is a strategic life-simulation computer game created by game designer Will Wright, published by Maxis, and distributed by Electronic Arts. It is a simulation of the daily activities of one or more virtual persons (”Sims”) in a suburban household.

The Sims was first released on February 4, 2000. By March 22, 2002, The Sims had sold more than 6.3 million copies worldwide, making it the best-selling PC game in history. Since its initial release, seven expansion packs and a sequel, The Sims 2 (with its own expansion packs), have been released. The Sims has won numerous awards, including GameSpot’s “Game of the Year Award” for 2000.

FusionFall is an MMOG set in a re-imagined Cartoon Network Universe.

As a kid in this world, players will team up with other players and Cartoon Network characters to defend it from an alien invasion of epic proportions. The game is a mix of all the action of a 3-D console platform game and all the customization, character development and open-ended world exploration of an MMORPG (massively multi-player online role-playing game). In addition, small, super-deformed versions of Cartoon Network characters are collected along the way and travel with players, providing powers and abilities to assist during missions. (more…)

The new wireless Wii Balance Board allows families to control on-screen action with movements as they work their way through a variety of challenges aimed at getting everyone off the couch and into the action.

Players will be able to check their Body Mass Index (BMI), see their Wii Fit Age and keep tabs on daily progress towards being more fit.

The Balance Board will be bundled with a game and sold as “Wii Fit”.

Wii Fit - The Game, contains more than 40 activities and exercises, including strength training, aerobics, yoga and balance games. Whether you’re family is into yoga or skiing down a slalom course, there’s an activity for everyone.

KidConfidence met with the producers of “Speed Racer The Video Game” for a hands-on first look of the upcoming hyper-realistic arcade racing videogame tie-in for the WB / Wachowski brothers (Matrix) movie Speed Racer.

The game will be available in May 2008 on the Wii™ and Nintendo DS™ systems as the Speed Racer film hits theaters. It will be released on the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system with the DVD launch.

Players will be able to compete against up to 19 other racers across 20+ fictional and stylized rollercoaster like tracks. Independently turning wheels will allow players to engage in close combat -“car-fu”- and jump, flip or outmaneuver their opponents.

Especially considering the hardware limitation of the Wii Console, Speed Racer does well capturing the action, look and feel of arena racing. (more…)
