“Transcending consumer fads, the Game Developers Choice Awards feature games and developers that are truly worthy of recognition. The recipients are chosen by those who know games best –their creators.”

Picking a good video game is a daunting task, especially for those who don’t have the time to read up or demo “all” the new games. Of course their are plenty of resources e.g. Game Review Websites, where you can get (opinionated) information about what game supposedly rules or drooles.

But what if you are looking for the cream of the crop, the best of the best, the Oscar winner under the games?

Well - how about the games that actually have been nominated for the Oscar equivalent of the video game industry - The Game Developers Choice Awards.

Presented by the GDC (Game Developers Conference) and Gamasutra.com, the Game Developers Choice Awards are game development’s most prized honors. Hailed for their genuine tone, these true industry accolades exclusively recognize game developers.

Or in other words, your pretty much can’t go wrong with any of these 2008/2009 video games. Parents be advised that many of these games are for Mature audiences only - which means you (the parent) may actually wanna give those a try.
