Mindcandy turns cell phone charms into Web 2.0 – Introducing the “Moshi Monster”
Moshi Monsters are small collectibles whose claim to fame is to twirl and flash when your cell phone rings. Aimed at 7 to 12 year olds, these charms also include a secret online code, allowing players to adopt and care for a virtual version of their pet monster.
Monster owners can select and customize their monster, play with it, take it shopping, decorate its room, and share it with friends.
Moshi Monster will feature a series of fun puzzles that test everything from vocabulary and arithmetic to logic and spatial skills. The better your child does at these puzzles, the more Rox (the in-game currency) they’ll earn to buy cool things for their monster. The difficulty level of the puzzles automatically calibrates each day, so puzzles get harder if they are doing well, and easier if they are struggling.
The master-mind behind Moshi Monsters is Michael Smith, creator of Perplex City. Parents should take the jump over to Perplex City. Kids click here to visit Moshi Monster Beta.

Just thought you might like to know that Moshi Monsters is now live to the public after 4 months in private Beta! You can now log on and adopt your own pet monster at moshimonsters.com. Care for your Monster, make friends on the Friends Tree and play daily puzzles with it to earn Rox (the MonstroCity currency) and buy food, furniture and cute accessories for its room.
