Nintendo of America announced that it would issue rainchecks for those unable to buy its extremely popular console, the Nintendo Wii. During a conference call, representatives for the company said that Wii console production has been increased.
Rain checks will be available through GameStop and EB Games locations on Friday December 21st. If that location doesn’t have Wii consoles available, consumers can buy a rain check for the full console price: $249. Customers will receive a custom-designed DVD case with a picture of a Wii, and Mario wishing, “Happy Holidays! Your Wii is on the Way!” Inside the DVD case is a guarantee slip that provides gift-giver guidelines and an explanation of the gift receipt. Once you’ve purchased a rain check, you can head back to that location to get the Wii by January 25th, 2008.
