The videogame “Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour” is based on the characters of the Emmy nominated Disney Channel original series Hannah Montana.
Here is a quick primer for parents new to the Hannah Montana phenomenon:
Played by Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana is a preteen who lives a secret life as a pop star. Cyrus’s real life dad, country crooner Billy Ray Cyrus, plays her dad and manager. Miley just moved from Tennessee as a country singer and now has to adapt to life in Malibu. Mitchel Musso and Emily Osment star as the friends of Miley who know her big secret and Jason Earles stars as Miley’s brother. The show includes original music recorded by its star, Miley. The soundtrack was the eighth best selling album of 2006 in the U.S., with nearly two million copies sold that year. An estimated 3.2 million copies were sold worldwide.
The Hannah Montana videogame takes your kids on a virtual World Tour while playing as Hannah Montana and other characters from the show. The player will spend the majority of time in rehearsals or live on stage, performing one of 15 original songs in a several different countries.
The game is played by performing (acting out) various moves with the Motion-Sensing Wii Remote and Nunchuck attachment. The player’s moves must be timed and matched to icons scrolling on the lower part of the screen. (Think Dance Dance Revolution – only with your hands instead with your feet). However, unlike Dance Dance Revolution, Hannah Montana is easy enough to be enjoyed by young gamers around the age of 6. The game becomes progressively more difficult, but never un-manageable.
Several studies have been conducted on the benefits of Rhythm games, suggesting that these games stimulate cognitive and physical development in children.
Hannah Montana also stimulates the need for girls to shop the world’s greatest stores. Stage credits earned can be spent on new outfits and accessories. Unfortunately the game is a little cheap in the graphics department. The Backstage areas look exactly the same in all countries, except for some different posters and items here or there.
The game may not rewrite the rules for rhythm/music games, but it gets your kids moving and is surprisingly fun. Definitely a save bet for any Hannah Montana fan.

I am also trying to add the second controller for the dance off, please help! Thanks!

In order to add the second wii remote for the dance offs you have to go hit the home button and go to wii remote settings. Then one at a time you have to hit the 1 & 2 buttons together until the lights on the remotes light up. Once you have done this with both remotes just hit the home button again and it should be good to go. Sometimes we have had to do this a couple of times to get it to work but we have been able to do the dance offs. I hope this helps!

If you’re stuck backstage, walk out to the hallway and talk to her dad, Robby Ray. You have to point your remote at him and push the “A” button. A balloon with an exclamation point comes up and you push A to reply that you do want to go practice a song. (After the practice you’ll get to perform it.)
If you want to go shopping, use the same process with Jackson (her brother), and you’ll be allowed to shop. After making some purchases, you’ll be able to try on clothes in her dressing room (point at the closet and push “A” again).

the kids at home loves Hanna Montana. I also watched this show from time to time and Miley Cyrus is really fit for this role.
