U.B. Funkeys is a new “e-play toy” - a toy that provides access to a virtual world. In order to play U.B. Funkeys your family will need to buy a starter kit. The kit comes with a game CD, a USB Hub in form of a large Funkey character and two small (4inch) Funkeys. The small Funkeys can “piggyback” the bigger hub character, which changes the appearance of the in-game character. A large variety of additional small Funkeys (42 as of product launch) are available at toy and online retailers. Each new Funkey character unlocks new zones and small minigames. Some Funkeys are more common than others, which Mattel hopes will spark Funkeys collector craziness among our 8 to 12 year old kids.
The virtual U.B. Funkeys world looks very “slick”, for lack of a better word to describe the unique style of buildings, boats and objects throughout the different Funkeys zones. Unfortunately, most of the buildings are mere decorative and cannot (at least at this point) be accessed. We spent a lot of time walking around, wondering how fun it would be if we could interact with items in more creative ways. Buildings that can be entered usually feature a store, to buy items for the players personal “Crib” – a room that can be customized, and a minigame to earn money.
Arkadium and Mattel also included a small story line, in which the Funkey’s are trying to rebuild Funkeys Town’s transportation system and save it from evil Master Lox. Master Lox’s henchman are vicious little creatures that roam around in all FunkeysTown Zones. Upon contact with a henchman your child will loose his/her hard earned coins. Rapid clicking on a dedicated on-screen button may limit the damage, but your child is likely to take some loss regardless. This may add a little action to an otherwise relatively unexciting virtual world; However, younger players will probably loose all their coins rather quickly and consequently interest in the game.
The collectable vinyl Funkeys are unquestionably cute and will appeal to a much wider audience then the targeted 8-12 range, adults included. Hopefully the gaming experience will be enhanced in future upgrades. We recommend parents to allow the game to access the Internet in order to automatically search for game updates every time the program starts.
U.B. Funkeys are definitely more fun to collect than play, at least for now.

Getting your coins stolen all the time is somewhat annoying, so the best thing to do is spend them as soon as you get them! Or find the hoodwinks which the henchmen will steal instead.

It is really hard to get past level 5 but it can be done. I have the trophy. You must be very very fast at first and just keep clicking.

the trick to beating the Museum Mask Mayhem game is to use all the time allotted in the two early rounds. Round one, if you take your time, should be possible to earn almost 60,000 points, do not clear all the combos until the final seconds. It takes points to win the trophy.

To get the dirt off of a UB Funkey, you have to go to the dentist ( located by lotus central ) and other various places around FunkeysTown. There is the fish fountain, Perfume Flower ( by the magma gorge portal in FUnkeysTown ), and the suds place as well. Those are all located in FunkeysTown. In the underwater place ( i forget what it is called ) there is a fish cleaning station and in magma gorge there is a steam cleaning station. They all are equal as in.. they clean the same parts. Also to the laputa station button.. I strongly believe that it does absoloutely nothing. however there is a clue on ubfunkeys.com about laughter. ?? im confused! i still doubt it does anything but i am still curious so if anyone can prove that it does nothing it would be greatly appreciated or even if anyone figures out what it does! My crib name is ginger if anyone wants to see my room. i have tried getting to friends rooms before but it is never the same room so the room might not be my room. also they shouldn’t say its case-sensitive bc its all in caps anyway! Must Be A Typo…

Ok on Funkiki island-There are 4 orbs. You need the 4 Funkeys that are on that island so you can go to their place and play their games. Each game gives you a special tool to retrieve an orb.-the spider funkey gives a web gun that will help you cross the bridge. the Sun funkey will give you a mask to go into the cave. the shark funkey will give you a bucket of chum to feed the pirannas so you can cross. the snow flake funkey I’m not sure about because i don’t have it yet-but it has to be something to help you cross the lava. You take each of the orb up to the top of the volcano and you will see a door with 4 holes. Once i get the last one i’ll update you-unless someone already knows. Hope this helps and i need to know about the coconuts too!?

You need to keep playing flurry nibble sol and webley’s games and you will eventually get special items from them that will allow you to cross over and get the orbs. Then you can put them into a door that will open and allow you to go to where those little cave men dwell. You can use the coconuts there to purchase things. However you will also need to give the main island dude a golden pineapple that you can get after yout alk to him by going to the trees and shaking them for coconuts and eventually it will give you one of the golden pineapples. Some people will say you need to fish and or collect all the coins laid around the island but I did not have to do that. To get your U.B. Funkeys clean, you have to look on your map until you see a few rain drops. You walk to were those raindrops are and you will find you are near some water. Walk on the water and it will wash you.
Keep doing this until you shine by being clean.

I bought some Funkeys for my son and although he loves to play, those henchman are very frustrating to him. He has only played it three of four times. He ends up just giving up and quits playing because he is so frustrated. He had two henchman take his money in less that two minutes. In fact, he just told me he’s not going back to UB Funkeys for a while. That’s really too bad b/c it seemed like a cool concept.

To avoid the Henchman, look for a Hoodwink they are little Twinkle lights found through out Funkytown. Click on the twinkle and then the Henchman next time will take it and you keep your coins. You can only have one Hoodwink at a time though! Also when you hear the music change A Henchman is near; get to a store, game room, Portal or cleaning station to avoid the Henchman.

HI, my crib name is Disneyland…thanks to Joel who helped me the most to finally beat Museum mask mayham!! I finally did it with over 200,000 points! Now if anyone can give me a hint on what it takes to do the fishing game for the Bones…I am able to catch the fish, and struggle to get to level 7 and still have not gotten the trophy or beat the game. Does it take a certain number of points or levels?

The problem with not being able to save the game is due to the game being run under a users other than the user used to install the software. Probably due to being installed as an admin user and being run under a less provileged one.
To fix this you’ll either need to run as the same user the game was installed under or user cacls to set the permissions on the appropriate persistence settings so that the user you run the game as can save its settings on exit.
C:\Program Files\U.B. Funkeys\RadicaGame\data\\profile.rdf
cacls /E /G Users:F
will do it …. when run as an admin user -
Start -> Run … runas /user:Admin cmd (to get a dos prompt as Admin)

Each game you play on Funkiki Island will give you something to allow you to collect the orbs you need to go thru a door at the top. Obviously, you haven’t seen the door yet because you can’t cross the river yet, but it is there. You also need all 4 Funkiki Island funkeys to access each of the games…for example, you need Webbly to play his game. When you win by getting 100% of your web done you will get a web slinger that will allow you to build a bridge out of web that you can cross the ravine with and get one orb. Each orb requires a different item. Hope this helps. Then after you get ALL the orbs, make sure you have a golden pineapple so you can talk to the Pineapple King in the village behind the door at the top. This will let you complete the game. Keep knocking on the palm trees and collect your coconuts, you use those for money in the village. The golden pineapple will randomly fall out of one of the trees. So keep shaking them!

I got the flurry trophy after beating the game and finishing all the levels. I got something to make snow/ice to cross the lava (my score was over 22,000 points). it allows you to cross and get the orb…luckily each time you are able to cross, you snow or web bridge or whatever stays there and you don’t have to build it again! Hope this helps.

on funkiki island you have to have flurry, nibble, sol, and webly.
you have 2 get really good at all thier games and each game will give you a cool gift.
use the gifts to get the orbs, put all the orbs in the door and click the moutian behind the the door and walk up to the pinapple king and it will say you need a gift to talk to him so go keep on shaking the cocanut trees and keep on shaking them till a golden pinapple falls give to him.
