Mario Party for the handheld Nintendo DS is the first portable version of the popular Mario Party videogame series. The game can be best described as electronic (virtual) board game, reminiscent to Monopoly and the Game of Life.
Up to 4 players can play together by using four separate DS units. However, only one game card is required. This functionality makes Mario Party DS a great family value. The game includes 70+ minigames and five virtual game boards. The majority of games make good use of the microphone and the touch-screen. The microphone, for example, is used to blow out virtual candles in one of the minigames. Players can choose from 8 popular Nintendo characters to play.
Virtual board games are not everyone’s favorite and the AI can be tough to beat at times, however your kids will probably have a blast playing all the different minigames. We recommend Mario Party DS for players ages 7 years and up.
