Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the latest installment in a series of Sci-Fi First-Person Adventure/Shooter video games produced by Nintendo. The Metroid series is one of Nintendo’s most successful franchises. The first Metroid game was released back in 1986 on the Famicom Disk System (Japan) followed by various ports, sequels, and remakes on the NES, Game Boy, Super NES, Game Boy Advance, GameCube, Nintendo DS and now on the Wii.

This may go a little beyond my usual “Family videogames” and “ Best videogames for kids” related blog entries. But guess what – Commodore is back. Remember the Commodore 64, commonly referred to as C64, released in 1982. 1.02 MHZ and 64KB was all it took to become the best-selling personal computer model of all time. After the Amiga days in the early nineties the name and brand Commodore kind of disappeared for a while, but it turns out C= is back. (more…)

Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation announced the development of The Tuttles Madcap Misadventures: Starlight Starbright Charity Challenge, a casual videogame that pairs having a good time with doing good. A first-of-its-kind fundraising initiative, Starlight has partnered with Legacy Interactive, a leader in games for the mass market, on the game’s development and publishing. Dave Thomas and his comedy team at Emmy Award-winning studio, Animax Entertainment, developed the game’s original script and characters. (more…)
