I can understand the challenge of making a (only) PG rated Action Movie based on a Marvel Comic Book. But how is it possible to create a bad Videogame from a Comic book? First Spiderman and now Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, both manage to disappoint even the biggest Marvel Fans.
What does this mean for your kids?
Well, on the plus side the movie Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is definitely more suited for your Tweens then Spiderman, hence the “PG” rating.
The “T” for Teen rated video game on the other hand, is once again all about beating up generic bad guys. We found ourselves running down a (virtual) street for 10 minutes fighting the same bad guys over and over again… Yes, this is what the game is all about -repetitive combat. Unfortunately the game not only disappoints in Gameplay but it also looks unacceptably bad and the cut scenes between the levels are not entertaining at all. The game is short on top of it, so you really don’t get anything for your money. Your teenager or a skilled gamer dad can easily plow thru the game in 2 sessions.
If your kids don’t believe you (or us) to stay away from the not-so Fantastic Four game, then at least make sure they use their own allowance to buy or rent the game.
