Webkinz are stuffed animals originally released by the Ganz gift company in 2005. The toys are similar to many other small soft toys, however they come with a special code on their labels that allows access to the “Webkinz World” website. Here the player can “adopt” a virtual version of the pet. After adopting, the player is given basic items such as a room, a welcome balloon, a food item, a piece of furniture and 2500 in “Kinzcash”. Kinzcash is the virtual currency of the game. Each pet has levels of happiness, health, and hunger that vary as time is spent with the Webkinz. The stats can be increased by feeding, playing, exercising and bathing the pet. Many of these activities require Kinzcash. Earning Kinzcash involves playing multiple minigames, including quizzes and arcade games. The game requires a lot of reading, we therefore recommend Webkinz for players ages 10 and up or with parent help for the younger ones.

Yes, this game is perfect. The cute stuffed animals attracts many, and the idea to collect them. The online world also attracts lots of kids, and that is their introduction to the internet. It keeps kids away from bad sites, and other bad online-world chats that are unsafe. The price is OK, but your money goes a long way. Especially the option to purchase a “Lil Kinz” which only difference between a normal webkinz, is the size and the price. They cost about $2-$3 less. The online chat is very safe. Right now, the only kind of chat open is the one where you must pick your own messages from the message box. Even if a parent would not like their child there, you can set it so that they cannot enter that area. The online money, “kinzcash”, does not have to be purchased like Habbo Hotel. You earn it by playing fun games in the arcade, doing trivia questions, (Very good idea. “You get Kinzcash, while you learn!”) playing other mini games at the employment office, (seen in the video above) and many other ways. It is like caring for a normal pet. (But, of course, easy for kids) You can feed it, play with it, exercise it, all to keep it healthy. You may also dress it, and it comes with a room for he/she when you adopt that animal. There are special items you get with that pet, that many like to collect. This faces a problem. Users like to contact each other through other webkinz fan websites to set up a trade. One sends something through “Kinzpost” and then the other person sends something back. Some peopledo not send back, so your child loses that item. Scammers are everywhere, though. Keep your child safe by making sure he/she is not at any other websites. There are many other things you can do in Webkinz World, all safe, fun, and educational. Hope you liked my mini-report. Just adding on to kid confidence’s.
