Club Penguin is a virtual world where children can play games and interact with each other.

After choosing a penguin and giving it an identity, players can explore several different areas within Club Penguin, here they can interact with other penguins by chatting, playing games, sending greeting cards, or using emotes (emotion icons) and using a set of predefined phrases. The chat is monitored and automatically filters profane language. Penguins violating chat rules are suspended for 24hours. By helping other participants and playing minigames, players earn virtual coins, these coins can be used to buy clothing and accessories for the penguin or furniture for their igloo.

Although anyone can join Club Penguin free of charge, players won’t have the same privileges as paying members, such as buying clothing or decorating their own igloo. Memberships cost $5.95 USD per month. Club Penguin relies solely on paid memberships and can therefore guarantee an Ad-free environment.
Due to the large amount of reading and chat centric community we recommend the game for children ages 8 and up. We found that the game lacks somewhat on scope and size. We were able to explore all locations and minigames within several hours. All locations and minigames are fun, but nothing out of the extra ordinary.

In our opinion, ClubPenguin is good for a couple hours of (free) fun, but if your child wants to join - we recommend that your kid uses his or her own allowance to do so.

I don”t like that you have to be a member to do most of the stuff or buy some things.

[…] We knew Club Penguin was hot from all the traffic we got after we reviewed it and blogged about it.  And today Disney just bought them for a deal that could be worth up to […]

hey im 11, and i play club penguin. and club penguin does have people that ask, “wanna be a couple.” sometimes i say yes, sometimes no. but the point is that moderators always block swearing and mean things. Also, a tip : being a member makes others totally respect you more. that’s why i am a member. Bottom line: PLAY CLUB PENGUIN, IT TOTALLY ROX!

PS, the only thing really involved in being a “couple” with someone is that you send them a heart emoticon and they send a heart emoticon back at you. the rest is just really hanging out with your couple and chatting. its more like social interaction than being a “couple” with anyone.

Club Penguin is really fun! i’m a member so I’m able to do a lot of stuff! It’s so fun to be a member, beccause you can decorate you igloo and buy really cool clothes! I love it so much that I go on when ever I can, but I’ve been having a lot of homework lately so I can’t go on as much now! Most people at my school think that clubpenguin is really lame, thats only because they have never been on it! My friends and I always go on and just chat! Club penguin has a party almost every monnth! at partys there is special things like free items, bounus games, and cool decorations!
    I LOVE CLUBPENGUIN!!!!

Club Penguin, does have couples. Sometime, they will want to kiss, hug, or just hang out. Whats really popular now on Club Penguin is saying, “any guys” or “any girls”. Alot of the Penguins also say, “any colleges”. In a way, the whole “colleges” thing is good, becuase it supports education. If I had to say, Club Penguin is mainly for pre-teens and teens (11 and up) because of the language. The moderators also dont work all the time, and swears do get through occasionally. Things also like, “your a loser”, gets through very often.
