It is difficult to create a blog, website or videos for an audience that you don’t know who it is. We are only guessing at this time too. We have this problem with the video reviews that Cola and I produced for our day job at KidConfidence.
Who is watching? We simply don’t know. So we script and present rather serious and professional. Even after 60,000 Views from a short test we ran on YouTube and Google - we still don’t know. We had 16 year olds saying the video “rocks” and 50 year olds saying the Reviews are too “stiff and lame”. What we will do is produce a weekly “casual” review show, hosted by Cola and me together. (First “demo” show is hopefully done by Jan 01.07 - we will post it here)
Viewers can then pick what review presentation style they prefer.
Ultimately it comes down to: “How do I want my audience to perceive my Blog, Website or Videos?
Our (Cola and My) bottom line is: We don’t claim to be experts. But we’ve been playing games since Atari and NES. We are just parents trying to help out “our friends & neighbors” on what games to get for their kids and for themselves. And since we have a diverse “neighborhood” we have to provide multiple forms, formats and styles to communicate.
Let us know what you want.
